VR Budget Build And PSUs: Community Roundup

The Tom's __hardware Community is constantly busy. Whether our members are discussing the site's latest articles and reviews, providing tech support and building advice, or playing the latest PC Games, we have so much great stuff going on that it could make your head spin! Not to worry -- Community Roundup is here to let you know the best of what's going on in the Tom's Hardware forums on a regular basis.

  • Not much has changed between now and our last request for builds. It's been hardly a month since we published the feature. Nevertheless, one big piece of news has dropped: Oculus lowered the requirements for a VR Ready PC thanks to an algorithmic technology called "asynchronous space warp." We thought the news was a big enough bombshell to warrant a request for new builds in an entirely new category: the $600 Oculus Rift Ready PC. So head to the forums and give us your best build. We'll be accepting submissions until November 9.
  • Halloween is just around the corner, so what better time to update our "Best" lists? Our Best Graphics Cards were updated now that pricing is beginning to settle on Nvidia's and AMD's latest architectures. With recent BIOS updates to the H1xx line of motherboards, overclocking value is within the reach of all different price ranges, enough to warrant an update of our Best Motherboards. Unsurprisingly, DDR4 prices continue to drop, bringing some much needed updates to our Best Memory guide. Let us know your thoughts, good or bad, in the forums or the comments section.
  • User bharath747 wants to know if it's safe to buy a low quality PSU. Most Tom's Hardware members would be quick to argue the importance of choosing a high quality PSU, but some still like to skirt around the high cost of a high-tier PSU to save money on their builds. If you need help picking a PSU, we have a guide for that. Also, be sure to check out our Best PSUs list. We continuously update it with our best deals so you never have to skimp on your builds.
